Samhain Closing

If you haven’t heard by now, Samhain will be closing at the end of the month. Statement is here. I’m forever grateful to Samhain for becoming my first publisher when my editor pulled my urban fantasy story, then called Wicked Miserable, out of the slush.

If you bought any of my books through Samhain’s site, it would be a good time to back them up. And if you’re in the middle of reading either my Miss Misery or RedZone series, you might want to get your hands on the sequels soon. Samhain is beginning to remove books from vendors.

Jess and Lucen, and Sophia and Kyle will be republished eventually. I’m thinking about options, and I hope to have a plan soon.

As always, thank you to everyone who’s read (and maybe taken the time to review) my books!

Miss Misery #5 is… Misery Happens

It’s official. I signed the contract for the fifth and final Miss Misery book, and we have a title: Misery Happens. I think it sums up the series, you know?

It doesn’t have a release date yet, although it will probably be around March of 2016. I’m sad to wrap up this series, but excited too! It’s been a fun and challenging ride to figure out a 5-book story arc, and I hope everyone likes how Darkest Misery and Misery Happens conclude for Jess and Lucen.

New book releases!

I’m a day late with this, but am happy to announce Misery Loves Company is now available for sale in ebook! (It will be released in paperback in April, I think.)

And speaking of paperbacks, if you like your books on dead trees, Dirty Little Misery came out in paperback yesterday too. (Buying it direct from Samhain this week will get you the cheapest price, if you look for that kind of thing.)

Hope you enjoy!

Misery Loves Company

Just a quick update to announce that I’ve signed the contract for the third book in the Miss Misery series – Misery Loves Company! At the moment, it has a tentative release date of January 2015 (just about five months after Dirty Little Misery releases.)

I’ve planned out five books in the series, so this is the middle one, AKA the book that turns Jess and Lucen’s worlds upside down. Can’t wait to share it!

A Miss Misery Short

Several people have mentioned wanting to see the scene where Jess and Lucen finally get together. Well, ask and you shall receive. I didn’t think the scene fit in Wicked Misery (I’m not a fan of endings that drag on), but I totally get that people want their smexy times.

So it’s written. It has a cover. I just need time to revise it and put it online.

I hope it’s worth the wait, for your sake and Jess and Lucen’s.

Miss Misery #2

What better way to celebrate Wicked Misery’s release week than by signing the contract for the sequel? Dirty Little Misery (Miss Misery #2) is tentatively scheduled for summer 2014!

So what’s in store for Jess? Gryphon shenanigans, magical drugs, secret societies, and–of course–a whole lot of Lucen. Can’t wait to share it!

Now I need to find some time to start #3…

Get Your Wicked Misery Swag Here

Okay, here’s the deal. Want a signed Wicked Misery bookmark? (Who wouldn’t? They’re sure to be a collector’s item some day. In an alternate universe, perhaps.)

Here’s all you have to do:

1. Order Wicked Misery any time until midnight on Saturday, October 12th.

2. Send me a screen shot to show you’ve done it. You can tweet it to @TA_Martin or email me here. Do both if you want two, but make sure you tell me where to send the bookmark! (I recommend emailing that part for privacy. If you tweet it too, be sure to let me know in the email so I send two bookmarks.)

3. While waiting for your bookmark to arrive, read an awesome urban fantasy. I recommend Wicked Misery.
